6 Great Ways Of Enjoying Fresh Moringa Leaves

I believe that many people have moringa trees in their backyards and don’t know how to enjoy this super nutritious plant. Moringa is the ultimate multivitamin in a leaf, it is also the best form of protein for life. It’s high in Iron, Calcium, Potassium and a lot of other wonderful nutrients. Here are some simple and delicious ways of incorporating Moringa into what you are already doing,

Crush some fresh moringa leaves with garlic, olive oil, some fresh Basil leaves, fresh oregano leaves, salt and some pepper. Add enough oil to ensure the mixture is saturated with oil. Store refrigerated in a clean glass jar. You can call this your Moringa pesto base; you can store several jars of this for up to 2 months.

Serving Moringa with fish or chicken.

Scoop out a small portion of your Moringa pesto base and squeeze in some lime or lemon juice. Add extra salt if needed. Spread a thick layer of this over fish or chicken and enjoy the wonder health benefits of Moringa.

 

Moringa dip

  Start with small bowl of Moringa pesto base. Mix in some tahini and some extra oil into a creamy consistency. Add extra salt and cayenne pepper if required. Serve with potato chips.

 

Moringa garlic bread

 

 Place a small quantity of Moringa Pesto base in a bowl. Add some olive oil or olive oil margarine and some extra garlic and salt if needed. Mix very well and spread lightly over some wholemeal organic bread. Bake the bread in an oven for 15 minutes at 150 degrees.

Leave to cool down and serve.

 

Moringa potato bake

Dice up roughly 2kgs of potatoes. Place potatoes in a baking dish and mix in some Moringa pesto base, some olive oil and some salt. Bake at 180 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes depending on the type of potatoes.

 

Moringa and potato noodle pesto salad

Cook some potato noodles by soaking the noodles in boiling water and keep covered until the noodles are swollen and soft. Strain off the excess water and let it stand for a while. Fry some ginger and then some prawns, in a very small amount of rice bran oil. Mix in the potato noodles and some of the Moringa pesto base. Add a small amount of salt and pepper and serve.

 

Moringa and Quinoa salad

Boil the quinoa until it's cooked, before leaving it to cool down and then rinse. Mix in some diced tomatoes, baby spinach, rocket, beans and some smoked salmon pieces. Mix 2 dessert-spoons of Moringa pesto base in 3 dessert-spoons of olive oil and the juice of 1 lemon. Stir the pesto mix until even, then mix into the Quinoa salad. Serve with a piece of lemon
